About us
Full Gospel Holy Temple - Nash opened its doors to do a work for God in the year of 1975 on Taylor Street in Texarkana, Texas. God blessed mightily and the congregation outgrew the Taylor Street location. In 1976, the church moved to 200 College Street in Nash, Texas. In May of 1977, then, Elder Paul & Evangelist Jacquelyn Cannon began their pastoral ministry as the pastors of Full Gospel Holy Temple - Nash. Pastor and Evangelist Cannon were dedicated to the service of the Lord and the work of the ministry. They embarked upon new territory as they accepted the call of God to come to Nash, Texas. The ministry flourished and grew under their leadership. For five months, Elder & Evangelist Cannon, along with their children, commuted from Dallas, Texas to Nash, Texas for service.

In the beginning of Elder Cannon's tenure, he served as the church bus driver, the church's drummer, along with preaching and ministering to the needs of the saints. Evangelist Cannon would get the church prepared for service, served as the Sunday School/Bible Class teacher, choir member, cared for the children--anything that her hands found to do. Elder and Evangelist Cannon were committed to the work of God and shepherding the people of God.
God blessed Elder Cannon to transfer from his job at Sears Holding Corporation in Dallas, Texas, to the Texarkana store in October of 1977. He continued to work full-time, as well as minister full-time. The power couple sacrificed personally, as well as financially, all so that the ministry would prosper and be blessed.

The first few years were "trying" years for the ministry, but they were determined to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ! Elder Cannon preached the word with a strong conviction under the power and anointing of the Holy Ghost. He taught us to have faith in God, and to believe His Word, and by doing so, the saints were nourished and blessed! Many people, from both far and near, came to the ministry seeking for salvation and deliverance and found it! Souls were steadily being added to the church!

In 1988, the ministry began broadcasting via radio on stations KTWN and KNBO in New Boston, Texas, and later on KTKC 92.9 FM, KJTX 104.5, as well as, KOSY 790 AM. The ministry also began to broadcast by way of television on KSHV (My45) as The Living Word Telecast. The church reached another milestone when God blessed us to pay off the mortgage to the church building. The church began publishing its newsletter, the Gospel Arising, in 1987. God began elevating our Pastor as well! In 1987, Elder Cannon was appointed the president of the Full Gospel Holy Temple, Inc. International Annual Youth Congress. The church received television publicity when Elder Cannon was interviewed alongside, Reverend Mike Huckabee, who later became the governor for the state of Arkansas. Full Gospel Holy Temple - Nash, became the first church in this area to advertise on television on KMSS Fox 33, anchored by Nick Jones. God, yet again, elevated our pastor--in 1991, Elder Cannon was ordained to the office of Bishop by the founder and overseer of Full Gospel Holy Temple, Inc., Dr. Apostle Lobias Murray, and became the second bishop of the organization!

As a result of the prolific blessings of the Lord, the congregation outgrew the small sanctuary (a renovated school building). God had impressed upon the heart of Bishop Paul Cannon, Jr. to erect and build a debt-free edifice. The ground-breaking ceremony for the new church edifice convened in June of 1991. The Bishop's Kids: Operation EXCEL (an educational tutoring and study program, along with the FGHT-Nash Nurses' Guild were formed in 1991.
The walls of the new sanctuary were erected in 1992 and in 1993, the congregation entered into the new, debt-free sanctuary! To God be the glory, for the things, He has done!
